The Root Cause!

5/3/23  Be humble  Be holy  Stay rooted  Stay attached to the source  The source of life can only be the vine  Draw always from the root and reach always for the heavens.  Spread out to collect the dew and rain from the heavens  All God’s busy  bees to collect the nectar and cross pollinate the other budding blossoms  Honey to the honey combs  Allow the vine dresser to prune the vine for an ever more abundant growth  Then the branch you become will bear much fruit   New seed will be planted to grow the orchard  And the taste of sweet honey will last for generations upon generations!    Romans 11:1-24 (DR)Israel’s Rejection Is Not Final 11:1-10“I say then: Hath God cast away his people? God forbid! For I also am an Israelite of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know you not what the scripture saith of Elias, how he calleth on God against Israel? Lord, they have slain thy prophets, they have dug down thy altars. And I am left alone: and they seek my life. But what saith the divine answer to him? I have left me seven thousand men that have not bowed their knees to Baal. Even so then, at this present time also, there is a remnant saved according to the election of grace. And if by grace, it is not now by works: otherwise grace is no more grace. What then? That which Israel sought, he hath not obtained: but the election hath obtained it. And the rest have been blinded. As it is written: God hath given them the spirit of insensibility; eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear, until this present day. And David saith: Let their table be made a snare and a trap and a stumbling block and a recompense unto them. Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see: and bow down their back always. “The Salvation of the Gentiles 11:11-24“I say then: Have they so stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid! But by their offence salvation is come to the Gentiles, that they may be emulous of them. Now if the offence of them be the riches of the world and the diminution of them the riches of the Gentiles: how much more the fulness of them? For I say to you, Gentiles: As long indeed as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I will honour my ministry, If, by any means, I may provoke to emulation them who are my flesh and may save some of them. For if the loss of them be the reconciliation of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? For if the firstfruit be holy, so is the lump also: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them and art made partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree: Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root: but the root thee. Thou wilt say then: The branches were broken off that I might be grafted in. Well: because of unbelief they were broken off. But thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear. For if God hath not spared the natural branches, fear lest perhaps also he spare not thee. See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness. Otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. For if thou were cut out of the wild olive tree, which is natural to thee; and, contrary to nature, wert grafted into the good olive tree: how much more shall they that are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?”(Romans 11:11-24, DR)

Stay True to Your Vocation!  Feast of St. Joseph the Worker

5/1/23  Be clear in your conviction!   Have purity of intention!   To know, love and serve God,   In this life so we can be with him forever in the next!  To get to heaven and bring as many souls with us as we can!  To give God glory in all things!  To know there are no accidents!   All is grace, so receive with humility and obedience all that is given us as the Divine Will of God.  To seek always Joy and Serenity that can only come with the peace of Christ  that dwells within those who trust and believe!   To share the good news!  To heal the sick and the wounded in the Name of Jesus.   To cast out spirits that afflict us and who seek only to slaughter, steal and destroy!  To be one with Christ who is with us always until the end of the age!  To live in the eternal now and to know that Christ is with us .  To renounce the world the flesh and the devil and to ask always for the gift of the Divine Will.  To keep our Triune God ever present in every thought, word and deed, in all our acts!  We walk by faith and not by sight!  Stay true to your vocation!    1 Corinthians 16:13 (RSV) "Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong."  Wisdom 17:1-21 (DR)The Egyptian darkness.Darkness Afflicts the Egyptians, While the Israelites Have Light “For thy judgments, O Lord, are great, and thy words cannot be expressed: therefore undisciplined souls have erred.  For while the wicked thought to be able to have dominion over the holy nation, they themselves being fettered with the bonds of darkness, and a long night, shut up in their houses, lay there exiled from the eternal providence.   And while they thought to lie hid in their obscure sins, they were scattered under a dark veil of forgetfullness, being horribly afraid, and troubled with exceeding great astonishment.   For neither did the den that held them, keep them from fear: for noises coming down troubled them, and sad visions appearing to them, affrighted them.   And no power of fire could give them light, neither could the bright flames of the stars enlighten that horrible night.   But there appeared to them a sudden fire, very dreadful: and being struck with the fear of that face, which was not seen, they thought the things which they saw to be worse: And the delusions of their magic art were put down, and their boasting of wisdom was reproachfully rebuked.   For they who promised to drive away fears and troubles from a sick soul, were sick themselves of a fear worthy to be laughed at.   For though no terrible thing disturbed them: yet being scared with the passing by of beasts, and hissing of serpents, they died for fear and denying that they saw the air, which could by no means be avoided.   For whereas wickedness is fearful, it beareth witness of its condemnation: for a troubled conscience always forecasteth grievous things.  For fear is nothing else but a yielding up of the succours from thought.   And while there is less expectation from within, the greater doth it count the ignorance of that cause which bringeth the torment.   But they that during that night, in which nothing could be done, and which came upon them from the lowest and deepest hell, slept the same sleep, Were sometimes molested with the fear of monsters, sometimes fainted away, their soul failing them: for a sudden and unlooked for fear was come upon them.   Moreover, if any of them had fallen down, he was kept shut up in prison without irons. For if any one were a husbandman, or a shepherd, or a labourer in the field, and was suddenly overtaken, he endured a necessity from which he could not fly.   For they were all bound together with one chain of darkness.   Whether it were a whistling wind, or the melodious voice of birds, among the spreading branches of trees, or a fall of water running down with violence, Or the mighty noise of stones tumbling down, or the running that could not be seen of beasts playing together, or the roaring voice of wild beasts, or a rebounding echo from the highest mountains: these things made them to swoon for fear.   For the whole world was enlightened, with a clear light, and none were hindered in their labours.   But over them only was spread a heavy night, an image of that darkness which was to come upon them. But they were to themselves more grievous than the darkness.”  (Wisdom 17:1-20, DR)

I Thirst!

4/14/23 In the Living and regenerative waters of baptism,   the purity of the Holy Spirit finds its dwelling in the innocent and humble soul  who thirsts for grace and responds in kind with love for the love given!  Strength to strength we are forged in this baptism of fire,  this flame of Love and the living waters of grace God bestows on   those of his own choosing and in his own time!  The love of God is found in our perfect charity and acts of redeeming grace which he has granted us!  Love for love!  Strength to strength!   Each act has an eternal consequence   We reach for good or slide toward evil in every thought, word and deed  We do not coast along  We will be dragged toward darkness or seeking the light  St Therese of Lisieux speaks of little things with great love  All therefore becomes grace and we are not to distinguish small acts from great ones,  as Christ would suffer his passion for one soul alone as he already has for humanity as a whole.  Participate in this great act of Christ’s Divine Love by interceding and bringing to your prayer meditation those weakened, broken, fallen, and even the corrupt souls who failed in giving their acts of love and blessings due to Our almighty Father and creator!  Stand perfect in all things and in all things give glory to God!    Strengthen me Lord, in my resolve to trust always, with patience and integrity those times when I thirst and when I walk in darkness.   John 6:35 (RSV)"Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst."            ReplyForward
